CBDT Extends Tax Audit Report Filing Due Date for AY 2025-26

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Finance, has extended the due date for filing various audit reports for AY 2025–26 (PY 2024–25).

✅ New Deadline: 31𝒔𝒕 𝑶𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓 2025: (earlier 30th September 2025).  
✅ Applies to assessees covered under 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 (𝒂) 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 2, 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 139(1), 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆-𝒕𝒂𝒙 𝑨𝒄𝒕, 1961

The extension comes after representations from professional bodies, including 𝑪𝑨 𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒔 faced due to floods and natural disruptions in different regions.

🔎 While the 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒙 𝒆-𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒍 continues to run smoothly, with large volumes of TARs and ITRs successfully filed, this extension provides much-needed relief to taxpayers and professionals.
